Dutch parlement preliminary parlement hearing. - Dutch Housing Crisis. Large groups of Dutch people have little or no access to a home in the current housing crisis. Mensen maken zich grote zorgen. Kunnen mijn kinderen wel een betaalbare woning vinden na hun studie? Als ik in de stad werk, kan ik de huur daar wel betalen of een huis kopen? Deze zorgen zijn terecht. Er is in Nederland sprake van een groot woningtekort. Vooral voor starters en middeninkomens is het moeilijk om aan een betaalbare woning te komen.  De behoefte aan betaalbare, duurzame en passende woningen is groot in Nederland. Zeker bij de groep starters en middeninkomens zijn de mogelijkheden om toe te treden tot de woningmarkt beperkt. Op dit moment is er in Nederland een tekort van 331.000 woningen, zo’n 4.2% van de totale woningvoorraad.  Tot 2030 zijn zeker 845.000 woningen nodig om te voorkomen dat het woningtekort verder oploopt.
